About the Book

‘Elvi, which one is your mum?’

‘They’re both my mums.’

‘But which one’s your real mum?’

When Nicholas wants to know which of Elvi’s two mums is her real mum, she gives him lots of clues. Her real mum is a circus performer, and a pirate, and she even teaches spiders the art of web.

But Nicholas still can’t work it out! Luckily, Elvi knows just how to explain it to her friend. . .

About the Author / Illustrator

Bernadette Green

Bernadette Green grew up passionate about animals and tree climbing. She dreamed of becoming a writer, but life took her in many different directions. She trained as a youth worker and shiatsu therapist before returning to writing. Bernadette lives in Melbourne with her partner, their two daughters, and their dog, Coco.

Anna Zobel

Anna Zobel lives in Melbourne's west with her partner and their chatty cat Harriet. When she's not writing or illustrating, Anna enjoys a variety of stimulating hobbies including reading, gardening, and eating. She is inspired by the children she has encountered as a babysitter, teacher, and after-school-care assistant, and strives to represent them in her work.

Guidelines for schools regarding live and/or recorded readings of this book can be found below:
